CLIPPING CONSIDERED
The clippers i use are cordless for safety and are also very quiet which helps when it comes to nervous or young horses.
The choice of clip should be decided around the individual needs of the horse, the kind of work he is doing and your stable management system.
Tradititional types of clip are :
Full clip
- Hunter clip
- Blanket clip
- Trace clip
Why clip?:
- To enable the horse to work hard without the extra stress which a heavy coat would
- To reduce sweating, thus helping to maintain condition.
- Prevent chills. Heavy coats hold the sweat and they dry slowly in cold weather.
- The horse will be easier to keep clean and will look smarter.
THE FULL CLIP
Whole body removed including legs and head saddle patch can be left to your requirements this clip is used alot on hunters and competition horses
THE HUNTER CLIP
Body is removed leaving the legs and a saddle patch
THE BLANKET CLIP
Blanket shape is left on including the legs head and the rest of the body is removed.
THE TRACE CLIP
Half of the body is clipped leaving the legs and head this can be customised to suit your needs
THE CHASER
Just the front of the chest is removed maybe half of the head and belly can be clipped depending on you requirements
